UP News: In an important step towards improving road transport in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started the procurement process for 1,000 BS-6 diesel buses and 120 electric buses. The board of directors of UP Transport Corporation adopted this resolution on Friday with the intention of encouraging environmentally friendly transportation and improving passenger comfort.
Enhanced Transport for MahaKumbh
The state is getting ready for the Mahakumbh, which brings in millions of pilgrims, by introducing 1,000 BS-6 diesel buses. Important locations including Prayagraj, Varanasi, Kanpur, Lucknow, Ayodhya, and Gorakhpur will be served by these buses. To facilitate easy travel for pilgrims attending the Mahakumbh from different regions of Uttar Pradesh, a thorough transport strategy has been prepared.
Boosting Eco-Friendly Travel with 120 E-Buses
In the following phase, the Transport Corporation plans to deploy 120 electric buses in an effort to minimise pollution. throughout an effort to promote a greener and cleaner form of transportation, these e-buses will run throughout religious cities including Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Mathura-Vrindavan. The Transport Corporation's managing director, Masoom Ali Sarvar, emphasised that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Transport Minister Dayashankar Singh gave clear directions for this effort.
Prior Orders and Future Plans
Previously, the Transport Corporation placed an order for 100 electric buses with a 220 km range from M/s Switch Mobility. These buses will provide improved connectivity with surrounding cities through e-bus services, serving areas like Prayagraj, Agra, and Ghaziabad.
