CM Yogi Adityanath has highlighted the scale of police recruitment in the state, stating that more than 2.19 lakh youth have been recruited into the police force over the past nine years.
He noted that in earlier years, simply deploying personnel was not sufficient, as many lacked adequate training and resources, making them less effective in handling responsibilities. The government has since shifted its focus to not just recruitment, but also structured training and equipping personnel with necessary tools.
CM Yogi Adityanath: Major Recruitment Push Since 2017
The Chief Minister stated that when the government came to power in 2017, the Uttar Pradesh Police had more than half of its posts vacant. Over the past nine years, more than 2.19 lakh personnel have been recruited to fill this gap.
Training and Capacity Building
Along with recruitment, the government has prioritized training to ensure that police personnel are well-prepared for duty. This includes improving skills, discipline, and operational efficiency.
Strengthening Law Enforcement
Officials believe that a trained and well-equipped police force is essential for maintaining law and order, preventing crime, and ensuring citizen safety across the state.
Focus on Modern Policing
The initiative also aims to modernize the police system by providing better infrastructure, equipment, and continuous training support.
The approach reflects a shift from merely increasing numbers to building a capable and efficient police force that can effectively serve the public.
According to the Chief Minister, the recruitment process has been carried out in a transparent and systematic manner, aiming to strengthen law enforcement across Uttar Pradesh.
He further stated that over 60,000 police personnel are currently undergoing training simultaneously, which is expected to enhance the operational capacity of the police force.
Officials believe that such large-scale recruitment and training will improve law and order, ensure better policing, and increase public safety in the state.
Focus on Youth Employment
The initiative is also being seen as a major step toward providing employment opportunities to young people, contributing to economic and social stability.
