Yati Narsinghanand: The controversial preacher ‘Yati Narsinghanand Saraswati’ has been arrested by the police for reportedly calling for the use of “gunpowder” to destroy madrasas and the Aligarh Muslim University.
Yati Narsinghanand was present at a Hindu Mahasabha event on Sunday in Aligarh. In response to the Uttar Pradesh Government’s ongoing investigation into madrasas that are not officially recognized, Yati Narsinghanand stated that such a facility should not exist.
Yati Narsinghanand also stated that Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) should be destroyed just like the madrasas, its students sent to prisons, and their brains should be treated.
Through a video, he can be seen saying,” All the madrasas should be blown up with gunpowder, just like China does. All students of madrasas should be sent to camps so that the virus called Quran should be removed from their brains.”
Yati Narsinghanand has been charged with making unpleasant comments on the educational institutions of a certain group in Aligarh, according to Kuldeep Singh Gunawat, Superintendent of Police. However, this is not the first time he has been booked for saying hateful statements in public. While speaking in Haridwar last year, he was detained on similar charges. Though, he was let go later on.
Recently, he was arrested for making divisive comments against Mahatma Gandhi. In a viral video he was heard saying, “Mahatma Gandhi was responsible for death of one crore Hindus,” among many other things.
Yati Narsinghanand mocks ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ and attacks Rahul Gandhi
During his speech in Aligarh, he also mocked Congress’s Bharat Jodo Yatra, by calling it as a “joke”. Yati Narsinghanand said that,”Rahul Gandhi is with the jihadis. He could not win in Uttar Pradesh and went to Kerala and contested from Wayanad.” Additionally, he also said “If Rahul Gandhi wants to unite India, then he should go to Pakistan and Bangladesh, which were built by Mahatma Gandhi. First connect Pakistan, Bangladesh with India. By doing this, everyone else will join him.”
