Viral Video: UP Shocker ! A person dies because hospital supplied “mosambi” instead of plasma to a dengue patient

Viral Video: On social media, a video purported to expose a bogus blood bank unit from Uttar Pradesh has appeared. According to the footage, the blood plasma used in a medical procedure was not real. Apparently, a dengue patient in Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad) passed away after receiving sweet lime juice rather than plasma.

Both plasma and mosambi (sweet lime) juice “look” identical in colour. The case is being investigated by medical reports. Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak had earlier on Thursday disclosed that the issue is being looked into. “The test report will come in a few hours. Strict action will be taken against those found guilty in the case,” Pathak stated.

Due to the increasing number of dengue patients in the area, UP physicians and paramedical workers were not allowed to take leaves.  On Wednesday, the Allahabad High Court ordered the Municipal Corporation within that area to inform it of the actions done to control and prevent dengue. The state administration was questioned about the improvement of medical facilities by the court’s Lucknow Bench.

Government statistics revealed that the number of dengue infections has increased significantly in recent years, despite the fact that Uttar Pradesh and a few nearby districts have seen an abrupt spike in dengue cases within the last week. In 2021, dengue cases were reported in 29750, 23389, and 20749 instances in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Rajasthan, respectively.
