Uddhav Thackeray: Elections in the state could “happen at any time,” according to former chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray, and his party is ready for them. The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut had earlier stated that the current Maharashtra administration led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde would fall within the “next 15-20 days” when he made this statement.

“Elections can occur at any time, and we are ready for them, We are looking for a favorable ruling from the Supreme Court in this case. After that, anything can occur at any time,” Thackeray stated in a speech to a crowd in the Jalgaon region of Maharashtra. Even though the state BJP chief indicated that the Shinde-faction will only be given 48 seats out of a total of 288 seats, he further urged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to clarify whether an election under CM Shinde will be held the following year. According to Chandrashekhar Bawankule, the state BJP chief, ‘Shinde’s party will only receive 48 seats (out of the total 288). Will the BJP run candidates for only 48 seats in the election?’ he questioned.

Thackeray claimed that his party and followers will make sure that ‘traitors’ were politically ended, referring to CM Shinde and other rebel leaders. “We’ll make sure you’re done, we promise. We have removed the stain that the state’s treachery left behind.” He declared that heroic people, not traitors, lived in Maharashtra. After a group of dissident leaders from the former Shiv Sena joined forces with the BJP and formed a coalition administration in the state, overthrowing the previous Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government, Thackeray was removed from his role as chief minister. The Thackeray-led fraction petitioned the Supreme Court earlier this year as the chasm between the Shiv Sena’s two factions grew wider.

ECI recognized the Shinde-faction as the true Shiv Sena
While trying to give both factions new names and emblems, the Election Commission of India (ECI) recognized the Shinde-faction as the true Shiv Sena and awarded them the election symbol of a “bow and arrow.” There is a lot of talk about the party coalitions in the state changing. Ajit Pawar, the leader of the National Congress Party, is widely believed to be on the verge of defecting from MVA and joining the BJP. Sharad Pawar, the party’s leader, stated earlier that no such discussions took place within the party. The Shiv Sena (UBT) and Congress make up the remaining two partners in the tripartite alliance known as the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), while the NCP makes up one-third of it.
