Android 13 For TV features

Even if Android 13 TV only serves as the operating system for smart TVs, it still has enough to offer to persuade manufacturers to support their efforts to upgrade the hardware. On the Material You UI front, which has developed since its introduction on Android 12, you will see gradual improvements.

It’s encouraging to see that Android TV will now have more control over the audio output from external speakers or a soundbar. Any movie played through applications will stream better audio output thanks to Android 13 TV’s improved audio sync across the formats operating on the TV.

Even in standby mode, the new TV version of Android is said to offer superior power management measures to control costs. With Android 13 TV, Google additionally addresses the privacy issue by allowing users to select when their TV’s microphone is accessible and when to apply hardware mute via the system privacy settings.

When will your TV the update?

For the time being, the Android 13 TV version is available to developers, enabling them to create applications and other user interfaces that match the features of the new platform. Therefore, the majority of smart TVs using Android 12 should receive an upgrade later in 2023. The updated version should be available faster for products from companies like OnePlus, Xiaomi, and Chromecast from Google.

It was obvious that Android 13 for TV would provide something new given that TVs are now competing in the high refresh rate market. According to Google, these settings can be changed on TVs that support HDMI sources.

Manufacturers have generally been hesitant to release software upgrades for TV-related devices, but we are hopeful that Google’s greater attention to Android TV will usher in a much-needed change.
