Another achievement has been registered in the name of Indian Space Research Institute. The PSLV C49 rocket was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on Saturday. It carried the EOS01 and 9 other commercial satellites. One by one all the satellites were installed in their class. Initially due to rain, the launch had to be held on hold for some time. But once the weather cleared, ISRO scientists got their iron. This was ISRO’s 51st mission.

The countdown began on Friday afternoon at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sri Harikota for the launch of this satellite. India’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle launched in its 51st mission carrying India’s Earth observation satellite EOS-01 (Earth Observation Satellite EOS-01) along with nine satellites from other countries. The satellites launched from PSLV-C49 include one from India, one from Lithuania, four from Luxembourg and four from the US.

PSLV carried the primary satellite EOS01. It is a radar imaging satellite (RISAT). It is an advanced riset whose synthetic aperture radar can also see beyond the clouds. Day or night, whatever the weather, it will prove to be effective at all times. This will not only help in military surveillance, but will also be helpful in farming, forestry, soil moisture measurement, geology and monitoring of coasts.
