Apple Foldable iPhone: According to a report from Apple Insider, Apple could introduce a foldable iPhone as early as the year 2025. The display on the phone is rumoured to be flexible OLED, and it is anticipated that it will ship with additional features. According to the source, there is sufficient evidence to show that Apple is working on a foldable version of the iPhone; however, it is possible that Apple will never ever release it.

Apple investigates new technologies by filing patents

At this time, the idea is only known about among Apple’s employees internally, and it has only been mentioned a few times in patent applications. It is well known that Apple investigates new technologies by filing patents and conducting tests on them.

According to the report, the internal prototype is either a tablet that can fold into a phone or a clamshell design that opens into a full-screen phone, just like Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip. Alternatively, the report states that the prototype is a phone that can fold into a tablet.

Resembled an iPhone 11 with a hinge in between two displays

There are conflicting reports regarding when Apple actually intends to release the foldable device. Researcher Min-Chi Kuo predicts that by 2023 at the earliest this will become a reality. Still, other rumours point to even later years, specifically 2024 or 2025.
