Apple iOS 17.3: The stable version of iOS 17.2 for all countries was just released by Apple, and it includes a number of new and intriguing features like the Journal app and sticker reactions in the Messages app.
Apple has just released the first iOS 17.3 beta version for iPhones. Those who meet the criteria for beta updates and are enrolled in Apple’s Developer Programme can get this update. To take advantage of these new features, other users will have to wait until the stable version is globally released, which is anticipated in January.
Apple iOS 17.3 new features
Stolen device protection
Users of iPhones will have an additional degree of security thanks to the new security feature. The iPhone can only be unlocked with the “Stolen Device Protection” feature enabled if the requirements for both passcode input and Face ID authentication are met. Features including the option to factory reset, save payment methods, have a password preserved in iCloud Keychain, and access to “Lost Mode” are hidden for users who have opted in. After that, access to these is restricted to biometric authentication.
Face ID unlocking is also required for other sensitive tasks like disabling Find My, resetting the password for your Apple ID, or unlocking your iPhone. The iPhone will wait an hour to restart the verification process if it is not in close proximity to the frequently visited place.
Collaborative Apple Music Playlists
Although this functionality was first tested by Apple in iOS 17.2, it was not included in the official version. Nevertheless, this feature has been brought back in iOS 17.3 beta 1. With iOS 17.3, users may invite friends, relatives, and people who share their taste in music to work together on playlists or edit ones that already exist. Interestingly, the most recent beta version brings back this feature.
