Apple to increase production over 5 times in India in the next 5 years, Details

Apple: Apple aims to increase the number of iPhones produced in India by five times. Within the following four to five years, the business hopes to increase production to about 40 billion dollars, or roughly Rs. 3.32 lakh crore. Citing official sources, PTI released this information. The corporation exceeded $7 billion in production during the previous fiscal year, the article claims.

“Apple has plans to increase production in India to over $40 billion in the next 4-5 years. It has crossed $7 billion in the last fiscal,” according to a government official reported by the news agency.

Apple’s production plans in India

Apple intends to start producing AirPods in India the following year. The business is now producing the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus in India. The new series is being made at an Apple facility close to Chennai.

In the fiscal year that ends on September 25, 2022, the business sold products in the home and accessories segment worth $38.36 billion while selling iPhones and wearables worth $191 billion internationally. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Apple recorded a fall in iPhone sales of roughly 4 per cent to $ 156.77 billion, while the wearable, home, and accessories segment experienced a slight decline of $ 30.52 billion.

Apple’s Growth this year

Apple has surpassed all other smartphone-exporting companies in India. Apple shipped 49% of the total smartphone shipments in the June 2023 quarter. India exported 12 million phones in total between April and June, which is less than the previous quarter, but Apple triumphed this time. The company’s encouragement of local production is the reason behind this accomplishment. Recently, it was reported that sales of Apple’s iPhone 15 series were 100 per cent higher on the day of launch on Friday than they were for the iPhone 14 series.
