Artificial Intelligence: Game Over For Old Bureaucracy! Haryana Pushes For AI Bootcamp, Will It Reshape State’s Governance Forever?

Artificial Intelligence: For decades, governance in almost every Indian state has been characterized by paper-heavy processes, hierarchical decision-making and reactive service delivery. Moreover, these systems are inefficient and characterized by high resistant to change or evolve.

Artificial Intelligence: Senior officials across universities, boards, departments and corporations have been urged by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi to develop artificial intelligence (AI) skills via the iGOT Karmayogi platform.

Artificial Intelligence Initiative Of Haryana Government

The AI initiative of Haryana government is a push to modernize the old-age and often redundant governance ecosystem in the state via technology. This would also help in creating a more efficient, agile and citizen-focused administrative system by strengthening out-of-the-box digital capabilities among the workforce.

Developed under Mission Karmayogi, the iGOT Karmayogi portal offers self-paced, certified and free courses on artificial intelligence specifically for employees of public sector companies. Officials could complete these programs at their pace and convenience without impacting their daily work and responsibilities.

Choice Of Curated Courses

The employees are free to choose from a wide range of curated courses. This includes basic AI concepts, advanced governance applications and generative AI for public administration. These courses would equip officials with skills required to transform rural governance, education and urban development while accessing tools such as Microsoft Copilot.

The AI courses are provided in collaboration with reputed organizations like the National e-Governance Division, Wadhwani Foundation, Karmayogi Bharat, Invest India and Microsoft.

For decades, governance in almost every Indian state has been characterized by paper-heavy processes, hierarchical decision-making and reactive service delivery. Moreover, these systems are inefficient and characterized by high resistant to change or evolve. Introducing AI into the ecosystem would help in reprogramming how decisions are formulated, how data is analyzed and interpreted and how citizens interact with the state.

The iGOT Karmayogi model would help democratizes access to advanced skills across departments. This would help in the locus of innovation shifting from the top to the middle layers of administration. It would also help in ensuring that standardized, clean and interoperable datasets across departments remain an easy option that many governments and departments struggle with.
