Artificial Intelligence: The Global AI Vibrancy Tool of Stanford University has ranked India as the world’s third most competitive country in artificial intelligence (AI) ahead of countries like Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

The latest rankings demonstrate how the fast-evolving tech ecosystem of India and its strong talent base are assisting the country play a vital role in the global AI race.

Artificial Intelligence-Leader’s Ladder

The Visual Capitalist chart shows the United States is clearly leading with a vibrancy score of 78.6 followed by China at 36.95 and India at 21.59.

Several indicators are combined by the Stanford’s AI Vibrancy Tool into a single score to measure how competitive and developed a country’s AI ecosystem is. These indicators include talent availability, investment and economic impact, infrastructure, research and development, policy and governance and public opinion.

The United States leads categories such as responsible AI, economy, policy and governance, research and development and infrastructure. On the other hand, China leads in economy, infrastructure and talent while India features prominently among the top three in talent, highlighting its skilled and large workforce in engineering and technology.
