BharOS: Reports of Wi-Fi spying are not uncommon. In actuality, since software from other nations, including China, has been used in Wi-Fi routers, connecting a laptop or mobile device to any Wi-Fi can be harmful. However, the government is now using BharOS, an indigenous mobile operating system that is also used in router technology. Read on to learn more.

BharOS details

The in-house mobile operating system is anticipated to improve user security and privacy. A project supported by the Indian government, BharOS is being created using an open-source, free operating system. By implementing it in public and government systems, the reliance on foreign operating systems will decrease.

IIT Madras is developing BharOS. The paper claims that India uses various operating systems for various kinds of tasks. For instance, Wi-Fi will be supported by a different OS. This will make WiFi spying impossible.

How will it help users?

Let us inform you that it is currently challenging to identify a device that has been infected with malware. A secure infrastructure is required in such a scenario. Thus, the Central Government is using its own BharOS. In order to encourage indigenous technology and lessen reliance on foreign operating systems for smartphones, BharOS is being integrated into public and government platforms.
