“Going forward, all X accounts with over 2,500 verified subscriber followers will get Premium features for free and accounts with over 5000 will get Premium+ for free,” the X owner posted.
His fans greeted the news with enthusiasm, with some even requesting more information.
The reason behind the move?
There are many who argue that Musk’s kindness may have its roots in the possibility that obtaining 2500 blue tick subscribers may not be simple.
It’s also possible that Musk and the company are not seeing the same level of traction and subscriber base with X Premium and Premium+; in that case, adding further requirements to make the service available to more people simply helps strengthen the subscription base.
Right now, a Premium subscription costs Rs 650 per month, while a Premium+ subscription costs Rs 1,300. Soon, people on X with more followers will have access to more services at no cost.
