Elon Musk Files Lawsuit Against OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman; Check Reason

Elon Musk: On last Friday, Musk sued OpenAI and CEO Sam Altman, Founder of ChatGPT. Musk sued the AI firm and Altman for the reason for abandoning the original mission of the organisation to develop AI for the overall well-being of humanity. As per a report by Reuters, the filed lawsuit mentions that the founder Sam Altman and Co-founder Greg Brockman approached Musk to create an Open source, non-profit agency.

GPT-4 Model Design Was Kept Secret

In a lawsuit filed by Musk on Friday, he mentioned that from a non-profit AI firm, OpenAI has been transformed into a closed source de facto subsidiary owned by Microsoft. Musk’s lawsuit also mentions that OpenAI is becoming a profit-centric organisation instead of a human welfare organisation.

He also mentions that the new board constituted by OpenAI is increasingly working to maximise the profits of Microsoft which is clearly a breach of contract which mentioned its original existence as a non-profit organisation. Another major thing the lawsuit mentions is that OpenAI kept the design of GPT-4 secret which is not an ethical practice.

Musk Alleges OpenAI

Elon Musk also alleged that OpenAI’s people have no knowledge of Artificial Intelligence. According to him, last year when Altman was terminated as OpenAI CEO. After that, Altman’s job was rescued by Microsoft’s confidence in him. According to Elon Musk, Microsoft’s existence as the biggest investor in OpenAI was one of the major reasons for Altman’s comeback to the AI firm. Meanwhile, Musk also opened up about his exit from OpenAI because of increasing clashes of thoughts on the development of AGI between the board members and Sam Altman in 2018.
