Elon Musk: Elon Musk recently bought a Windows laptop PC for himself. The billionaire encountered an issue with the laptop that he was forced to personally text the CEO of Microsoft, Satya Nadella. Musk himself reported this issue on his X account. The problem Musk encountered was mandatory login or signup into a Microsoft account to proceed with running the PC. The new PC was not showing "Skip Sign in, " previously available on the Windows PC. Elon Musk didn't want to log in or sign up for a Microsoft account. When someone commented on his X post "Call Satya Nadella for Technical Support", then Musk confirmed that he had already sent a text to Nadella to solve his problem.
Musk Criticizes Mandatory Login into Microsoft Account
Musk's X post clarifies that he is openly criticizing mandatory login to a Microsoft account to run a Windows PC. The billionaire quoted this as a privacy mess for users. Musk captioned his post by writing "Just bought a new PC laptop and it won’t let me use it unless I create a Microsoft account, which also means giving their AI access to my computer! This is messed up. There used to be an option to skip signing into or creating a Microsoft account. Are you seeing this too?"
Why Elon Musk Criticized Microsoft Account Login
Musk has criticized the need to make Microsoft Account for accessing basic functionalities on the Windows PC. He also said that if a user makes a Microsoft account, he/she automatically gives access to their computer's access to Microsoft's AI which is not an ethical practice according to him. He emphasized that there should be an option available to users who don't want to log in to Microsoft accounts.
