Elon Musk Starlink: According to a report, Elon Musk’s Starlink is set to get the approval for launching satellite connectivity in India. The broadband company is said to get the approval by the Indian Goverment by next week. If the reports are true, Starlink will be third company in India to launch satellite connectivity.
Starlink Close to Make India Debut
As per a report, the Starlink is set to get the long awaited nod from the India Government. The report mentions that the Department of Telecommunication supremos Neeraj Mittal and the Union Minister Ashwani Vaishnav are engaged in making an approval note for the same. Once the note gets prepared, the respective authorities will issue the final approval to Starlink for launching the satellite connectivity in India.
Notably, back in 2021, the Starlink started getting pre-orders for its satellite connectivity and the firm received over 5000 pre-orders. However, later the broadband form was restricted by the government as it lacked the neccessary license to sell its services in India. Therefore, the Starlink refunded the fee of all customers who made pre-orders.
Currently, in India there are two major players in the satcom segement which are Bharti Airtel and Jio. Starlink will be third player to offer the satellite internet services in India.
