Google Drive: These days, Google Drive is an essential tool for individuals and companies alike, providing a seamless platform for sharing, storing, and working together on projects and data. There are times when an internet connection might not be available. Fortunately, you can access your files without an internet connection, thanks to Google Drive’s offline mode. In this article, we will tell you the steps to make your files available offline on Google Drive.

Google Drive: How to make files available

  • Open the https://drive.google.com webpage to access Google Drive.
  • In the upper-right corner, select the gear symbol.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Check the box next to “Create, open, and edit your recent Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files on this device while offline” under Offline.
  • Click “Save changes.”

Once offline access is enabled, you can access and edit your most recent Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides files without an internet connection. Files that you have not recently opened, however, will not be accessible to you.

How to access offline files

  • First, launch the Google Drive website or app.
  • Two indicators that a file is offline are a grey checkmark and the file itself. To view the document, either tap or click on it.
