Comparison of design

Despite being two generations apart, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 12 share a lot of similarities in terms of design. They share a similar size, have flat sides, and a body made of glass and metal. The placement of the cameras on the back of each phone is the key feature that distinguishes it from the rest. In a square module, the iPhone 12’s cameras are vertically stacked, whereas the iPhone 14’s cameras are diagonally oriented (not for aesthetic but technical reasons, as the new sensor-shift OIS mechanism requires larger space.)

Display

Additionally, the iPhone 14 is heavier and thicker than the iPhone 12. Both devices, which have IP68 dust and water resistance and Ceramic Shield on the front, are otherwise quite similar. The display section shares features with the iPhone 14 and iPhone 13, as well. The 6.1-inch OLED screens on both phones have 1170 x 2532 resolution, Dolby Vision support, and a maximum brightness of 1200 nits. The iPhone 14’s maximum brightness of 800 nits can be distinguished from the iPhone 12’s panel’s maximum of 650 nits as the only significant variation. Simply put, the iPhone 14 will be easier to read outside than the iPhone 12 in bright sunshine.

Battery comparison

Apple claims that the iPhone 14’s 3,279mAh battery can play videos for up to 20 hours, whereas the iPhone 12’s 2,815mAh battery can only do it for 17 hours. The charging rates for both phones are the same: 20W for cable charging, 15W for MagSafe charging, and 7.5W for Qi wireless charging.

Original and discount prices of each

The original price of the iPhone 12 is Rs. 64900, but it is now available for Rs. 57999, while the original price of the iPhone 14 is Rs. 79900, but it is now available for Rs. 73990.
