iPhone 14: This smartphone delivers yet again! Emergency SOS feature saves a life in Alaska

iPhone 14: A man who was stranded in Nimiuk Point, Alaska, was saved by Apple’s Emergency SOS via satellite capability, which is accessible on the iPhone 14 series in the US and Canada.

On December 1, 2022, at around 2:00 am, the Alaska State Troopers learned that an adult who was travelling by snowmachine from Noorvik to Kotzebue had activated an Apple iPhone Emergency SOS by satellite on his iPhone after becoming disoriented.

The Apple Emergency Response Center provided the GPS coordinates for the Nimiuk Point area, and the Northwest Arctic Borough Search and Rescue Coordinator, local search and rescue teams, and four volunteer searchers were deployed immediately. The adult guy was found by the volunteer search team, who then transported him to Kotzebue.

The Emergency SOS function is already accessible to Apple users in the US and Canada. It is believed that it will also be accessible in France, Germany, Ireland, and the UK later this month.

The new emergency feature in the iPhone 14 is making emergency calls after detecting roller coaster rides as a serious crash, which recently brought Apple’s SOS feature into the spotlight. The feature is primarily designed to notify authorities if you are involved in a fall or any other type of violent impact, such as a car accident.
