OnePlus 15R Ace Edition: Same Core, New Fiberglass Finish – Spot The Tweaks Vs Standard 15R

The OnePlus 15R Ace Edition launches in India with a unique Electric Violet fiberglass finish and gamer-centric design. Internally, it shares the same specs as the standard 15R, offering identical performance, display and battery life.

OnePlus is all set to launch the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition in India on December 17, alongside the standard OnePlus 15R. This special edition comes as the third color option for the 15R series, joining Charcoal Black and Mint Green. The new Electric Violet variant stands out with a few cosmetic tweaks while keeping the core specifications identical to the standard model.

The OnePlus 15R Ace Edition will be available for purchase via Amazon India and the official OnePlus website. Its main highlight is a unique fiberglass back panel with “Ace” etched into the design, giving it a premium look and better grip. This Electric Violet shade matches the one seen on the OnePlus Ace 6T in China, but the Ace Edition is tailored for the Indian market.

OnePlus 15R Ace Edition Vs 15R: Design Differences

The biggest change in the Ace Edition is on the outside. Unlike the standard 15R, which comes in Charcoal Black and Mint Green with smooth glass backs, the Ace Edition features a fiberglass panel. This not only improves durability but also enhances heat dissipation, which is useful during long gaming sessions. The etched “Ace” branding adds a gamer-focused, stylish touch.

While the standard 15R offers more traditional colors, the Ace Edition’s Electric Violet and textured finish make it feel more exclusive and premium. Other than these cosmetic changes, the two phones are identical in terms of design dimensions and build quality.

Performance And Features

Inside, both the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition and standard 15R are exactly the same. They are powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, co-designed by OnePlus and Qualcomm. The display is a 1.5K AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate, 450 PPI pixel density, and peak brightness of 1,800 nits. Both phones also support the DetailMax Engine for computational photography, along with Ultra Clear Mode, Clear Burst, and Clear Night Engine for enhanced photos.

They run OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 storage options. Battery life and performance are identical, powered by a 7,400mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Both models also feature IP66/68/69/69K water and dust resistance, making them tough for everyday use.

The Ace Edition may include gamer-specific software tweaks, but in day-to-day usage, both phones deliver the same speed, performance, and camera experience.

Price And Availability Of OnePlus 15R Ace Edition And 15R

While the exact price of the Ace Edition is not confirmed, the base OnePlus 15R is expected to start under Rs 50,000 for the 8GB/128GB variant. The Ace Edition is likely to be slightly higher due to its unique finish and exclusive design.

In short, the OnePlus 15R Ace Edition is a premium-looking variant of the standard 15R. It’s for users who want the same powerful performance but with a stylish, gamer-friendly design.
