Poco X5 Pro 5G: Snapdragon 778G SoC smartphone coming soon with Android 12, here's everything you need to know

Poco X5 Pro 5G: Poco will launch the Poco X5 series in India. The Chinese company announced this week that the Poco X5 series, which will include a base model and a Pro variant, will go on sale on February 6. The upcoming Poco smartphones were previously seen on several certification websites, indicating an impending release. While there have been several leaks and reports about the phones in recent weeks, Poco has now officially confirmed a few specifications for the Poco X5 Pro 5G. A recent leak has also revealed the design and specifications for the standard Poco X5 5G ahead of its release.

Poco X5 Pro: Specifications

Poco has tweeted out some key specifications for the Poco X5 Pro variant. The Snapdragon 778G SoC has been confirmed for the Poco X5 Pro 5G. In addition, the phone will have a 120Hz Xfinity AMOLED display. The Poco X5 Pro 5G will also include a 108-megapixel main camera.

Display

According to the marketing material cited in the tweet, the Poco X5 5G will have a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080x2,400 and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The phone will also most likely have a touch sampling rate of 240Hz and a brightness of 1200nits, according to the report. According to the tweet, it will also have a contrast ratio of 4500000:1, be 100% DCI P3, and be Low Blue Light certified.

Camera

According to the leak, the upcoming Poco smartphone will be powered by a Snapdragon 695 chipset.

According to the leak, the Poco X5 5G's triple rear camera setup will include a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. According to the leak, the front camera, which is housed in a punch-hole slot, has a 13-megapixel lens.

Battery

According to the tweet, the upcoming Poco X5 device will have a 5,000mAh battery and will likely support 33W fast charging with MMT technology.

Connectivity options

According to an earlier report of the Poco X5 5G appearing on a Hungarian retail site, the phone could run MIUI 13 for POCO based on Android 11, as well as support Bluetooth 5.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, and NFC connectivity.

Which phones will it compete?

Poco appears to be targeting users who intend to purchase the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ (review) or the Realme 10 Pro+ (review), both of which are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 SoC. According to the benchmark results released by the company, the Poco X5 Pro with the Snapdragon 778G SoC is more than 10% faster than the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Realme 10 Pro+.
