Redmi Note 12 5G: Xiaomi's Redmi Note series has always been an easy budget recommendation, but things are a little different with the Redmi Note 12 5G. The phone includes 5G radios and has seen a significant price increase, even with its larger base storage.

Display

The display on the Redmi Note 12 5G is AMOLED with a hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera. The fingerprint scanner is located on the side, next to the power button.

The bezel around the display's left, top, and right sides is sufficiently thin, but there is a noticeable chin at the bottom that detracts from its premium appearance.

Performance

The phone's performance isn't the best in class, but Xiaomi's well-optimized software keeps it running smoothly.

At the same time, it's a little surprising to see an Android-powered device with Android 12 inside launch in 2023.

Cameras

The Redmi Note 12 5G's camera performance is by far the most disappointing aspect, with subpar results in both daylight and low light. The battery life is consistent, and the phone charges quickly.

Price and variants

The Note 12 5G comes in two models and three finishes. The base variant, which comes with a healthy 128GB of internal storage and 4GB of RAM, costs Rs. 17,999. The 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs 19,999 and comes with the same amount of storage. Both models come in Frosted Green, Matte Black, and Mystique Blue finishes. For this review, we received the Frosted Green 6GB RAM variant.
