Samsung Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12: Two premium phones compared insightfully, read before you make up the your mind

Samsung Galaxy S21 vs iPhone 12: Samsung unveiled three new smartphones: the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and Galaxy S21 Ultra. This is the first significant phone launch of 2021, and since these are flagship models (even though the S21 and S21+ are sort of a step down from the S20 flagships from last year), they will serve as the benchmark for many other releases this year. The Galaxy S21 is currently the most affordable of these smartphones, with a starting price of Rs 69,999. As a result, it is also a clear rival to the iPhone 12, has since become one of the best-selling iPhones.

Design

The cameras on the Galaxy S21 feature a novel clip-like design that protrudes from the body. It takes a different approach to how flagship phones’ cameras appear, which I believe may be advantageous to Samsung. Although it doesn’t significantly differ from the Galaxy S20’s camera design from a year ago, it is more polished, giving the phone a new look.

On the other hand, the design of the new iPhone 12 was inspired by the previous iPhone 5. People who have used the iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S do feel a sense of nostalgia when they see the glass back and flat metal rims. It is, however, a more subtle design modification. It is not as audacious as the S21 camera module.

Display

The 6.2-inch flat 1080p AMOLED Infinity-O Display on the Galaxy S21 has a pixel density of 421PPI and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Additionally, HDR10+ is supported on the display. The 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display on the iPhone 12 has a resolution of 1170×2532 pixels, a pixel density of 460PPI, and support for Dolby Vision and True Tone. Both the Samsung Galaxy S21 and the iPhone 12 will use displays that are similar to each other.

The major distinction is that the iPhone 12 supports Dolby Vision, though this feature will only be appealing to those who frequently watch Netflix on their phone because Netflix supports Dolby Vision. People who create video content will also appreciate the Dolby Vision on the iPhone 12, but in. In regular use, the displays on both these phones should be more than fine for most users.

Cameras

Three cameras are set up on the back of the Samsung Galaxy S21: a 12MP ultra-wide camera, a 12MP wide-angle camera, and a 64MP telephoto camera with 1.1X optical zoom but a smaller field of view. The 12-megapixel main camera and 12-megapixel secondary camera on the iPhone 12 both have an ultra-wide lens.

On paper, the cameras on the Galaxy S21 and the iPhone 12 both appear to be very strong. Now, the S21 has an additional telephoto camera. However, that telephoto only has limited practical use. It has only 1.1X optical zoom, which is enhanced with software to make it 3X zoom. It will give some leeway to users but not as much as a good telephoto lens can.

Performance

A slow phone is neither the S21 nor the iPhone 12. But the core hardware in the iPhone 12 is faster and more advanced. The iPhone 12’s A14 Bionic processor is unrivalled in the world of smartphones. It will probably age better and is much faster. Exynos 2100, a new processor included with the S21, is not comparable to Apple’s A-series processors despite being new. Unfortunately, Android phones must use chips from Qualcomm, MediaTek, or Exynos, which despite being the newest, lags slightly behind Apple’s own chips like A14.
