Samsung S20 update: It looks like Samsung is putting its devices’ updates to Android 13 and One UI 5.0 into high gear this week. Samsung released the stable One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S21 series earlier today, and now it’s also starting to roll out to the Galaxy S20 series!
Right now, it’s not clear if the update is available over the air or not, but our firmware archives have the Android 13 firmware for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra, so it’s clear that Samsung has released the update. In fact, we can see that the update is coming to the Galaxy Note 20 series as well. This means that Samsung has updated three different series of phones on the same day.
No longer need to wait for One UI 5.0 to be released
Some Android 13 users no longer have to wait for One UI 5.0 to be released As of this writing, it looks like the One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra is available in Germany and Switzerland. This update is based on Android 13. But you can be sure that soon enough, more markets will follow.

The firmware version G98xFXXUFGVJE for the One UI 5.0 update for the Galaxy S20 and S20+ with 4G is G98xFXXUFGVJE. Users of the Galaxy S20 Ultra in Europe can find the update by looking at the firmware version, which is G988BXXUFGVJE. The October 2022 security patch is part of the release.
Users of phones in the Galaxy S20 series should be able to update to One UI 5.0 when they get a notification or by opening the Settings app, going to “Software update,” and tapping “Download and install.”
