Apple Scam
If you got a text suggesting there was an issue with your Apple Wallet, would you freak out? Well, relax; it’s probably a scam.
The URL in the notification is, unsurprisingly, a phishing link since scammers attempt to persuade you that you must change your security settings in order to secure your Apple Wallet. It directs you to a bogus Apple ID login screen. If you entered your credentials on the phoney website, con artists would have access to them, take over your Apple ID, and prevent you from accessing it.
Fake Airbnb
It might be very difficult to differentiate fraudsters from real ones by looking at them because scammers sometimes impersonate hotel booking websites to take advantage of customers.
Again, any personal information submitted to these bogus websites will end up in the hands of con artists.
Walmart Scam
A fake message from Walmart is being sent to hundreds of people, and of course, the message is sent by scammers and not actually Walmart. The message asks the receiver to open the link provided to claim their free TV. if you click on the link, you will be directed to a phoney Walmart page that will walk you through each step of the raffle campaign.
If you continue, you’ll be directed to a survey form where you’ll be persuaded to provide your credit card number and other PII that is purportedly required for the delivery of the TV. Of course, you will not get a free TV.
