iPhone 16 Launch Event: Apple is finally launching its highly-anticipated iPhone 16 series at the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event today at 10:30 PM IST after months of anticipation, swirling rumours, and speculations. Apple is set to bring a new generation of AirPods along with three renewed models of Apple Watch while unveiling the lineup of iPhone 16, which is expected to be one of the biggest product launches of the year. Let’s Know about the event.
iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus: Next Level Revamps Design and Performance
The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus should follow a more iterative design of last year’s models, including a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch display on an aluminum body, respectively. But one of the major changes in design to come might be at the camera arrangement. New devices will possibly exit the diagonal arrangement of cameras on the iPhone 15 series to a vertical pill-shaped cutout, which allows for better spatial video recording.
Under the hood, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus are going to see a major upgrade in performance with the introduction of the Apple A18 chipset. Coupled with a base model boasting 8GB of RAM-from 6GB last year-it is expected that these phones will be slicker and quicker while supporting new features from Apple Intelligence.
Other great additions to the standards are the Action Button, which first appeared on the iPhone 15 Pro series. This versatile button will let users have even further customization control within their devices.
iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max: Bigger, Better, and Bolder
This time, the display are expected to be bigger on both the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, featuring 6.3 inches on the Pro version from 6.1 and the Pro Max at 6.9 inches from 6.7. This new technology-named Border Reduction Structure, or BRS-can support thinner bezels that will finally be noticeable, giving an even more immersive feel when watching.
These Pro models will be powered by the A18 Pro chipset, combined with 8GB of RAM, for peak performance. An upgraded Neural Engine is likely to come, underlining Apple’s increasing effort to pursue AI functions more energetically.
However, for the photography enthusiasts, the main event will likely be camera upgrades. First, the ultra-wide-angle lens might go up from last year’s 12MP to 48MP on the iPhone 16 Pro models. Added to this, the Pro variant might match the Pro Max with its 5x optical zoom on the telephoto lens. Other possible incoming camera features in these variants include a new touch-sensitive ‘Capture Button’ that would enable users to focus, zoom, and click photos a lot similar to how it does on a DSLR camera. Apple also reportedly will offer a new gold titanium color option to go along with last year’s blue titanium, which should give the Pro models an added air of luxury.
AirPods 4 and New Apple Watches: What’s Coming?
The company is also said to introduce two new variants of the AirPods 4 along with the iPhones, where the entry-level model will not have ANC. The mid-level model would feature ANC. Meanwhile, the more premium variant could feature a new case with an integrated speaker and support Apple’s Find My feature.
Of course, there might also be the introduction of Watch SE 3, a refreshed Watch Series 10, and Watch Ultra 3 at the event, which would further expand the wearables portfolio of Apple. And look, this ‘It’s Glowtime’ event is almost here; the excitement is high, as every Apple aficionado can barely wait for the official presentation of these next-gen products.
