Smartphone Tips: Smartphones have become an integral part of our lives nowadays. Smartphones store a considerable amount of our data and information that we can't afford to lose. But sometimes your smartphone gets damaged due to mishandling or any other reason. One of the most common incidents caused due to mishandling is dropping it in the water.

A smartphone without an IP68 waterproof rating can receive significant damage after coming in contact with water for a long duration, but by taking intelligent takeaways you can prevent any damage to your smartphone. Here, in this article, we have listed 5 ways you can use to eject water from your smartphone easily.

Turn off Immediately

Make sure you quickly turn off your smartphone to avoid any potential damage. If you switch off your smartphone, you can prevent any big harm to your smartphone motherboard. This practice can also help you reduce the risk of short circuits inside the smartphone.

Take Off Any External Accessory

When a smartphone comes in contact with water. Then you should immediately take off any external accessories including phone cases and covers to facilitate the drying process. This allows better airflow and helps water evaporate more effectively from the surface of your smartphone.

Use Absorbent Materials

To facilitate the drying process, you can place your smartphone on absorbent materials like a towel or a paper towel. You can also prefer gently wiping the smartphone from inside and out. But, you should always avoid using excessive force which can push water further into the phone.

Keep Your Device in Silica Gel or Rice

Let your smartphone dry completely. For this, you are suggested to keep your smartphone in a container filled with silica gel packets or uncooked rice. These absorbent materials can help absorb moisture from the device over time. Keep your smartphone submerged for at least 24 hours to maximize the drying process.

Don't Turn on Immediately After Drying

You need to allow your smartphone to air-dry before switching it on again. If you skip this process it can lead to an increased risk of permanent damage. Be patient and wait for a while and place your device in a ventilated area for 24 hours to ensure that the internal components are dried thoroughly.
