WhatsApp New Feature: WhatsApp plans to introduce a new feature that will allow users to block third-party chats. The new feature is expected to be rolled out for all users in the upcoming months. Earlier this month, WhatsApp was reported to be working on a feature to allow third-party messaging integration to comply with the Digital Market Act. The meta-owned messaging platform has been working on this feature for two years. The third-party messaging integration feature will allow users to share their messages, files, docs and media with other social media platforms such as Telegram and Signal.
WhatsApp Third-Party Chats Feature Benefits
The upcoming third-party messaging integration will cater to people or users who like to do cross-platform interactions. On the other hand, there will be so many users who will not find this feature useful for them. However such users will have an option to turn off third-party chats. While turned off, the third-party chats feature will not allow people to send you messages and they will also not be able to send messages to others.
WABetaInfo Report Says
According to WABetaInfo, a new option will reflect in WhatsApp to turn off and on third-party chats. This feature can be currently experienced in the WhatsApp Beta for Android V.2.24.6.2. There will be also an option for users to choose from which apps they want to receive or send messages. This cross-platform integration feature is currently in the testing phase and it is expected to be rolled out for the stable version in the coming months.
How to Activate WhatsApp Third-Party Chats Feature
Once rolled out for all, users will see a dedicated toggle in their WhatsApp mobile application. This toggle will redirect users to an option that will allow them to turn on and off third-party chats and they will also get accessibility to control third-party app integration by option for apps according to their utility.
