Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra debut globally at MWC 2024: Price, specifications, and all you need to know

Xiaomi 14 Ultra: In Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress, Xiaomi announced its 14-series smartphone lineup. The Xiaomi 14 series comprises the smartphones Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. On October 22, 2023, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra made its debut in China, after the launch of the Xiaomi 14 in the same month. These smartphones are notable for a number of features, including fast wired and wireless charging, LTPO screens, IP68 dust and water resistance, Leica optics, and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors. Xiaomi 14 Ultra

The 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and a resolution of 1440p (2K). Dolby Vision playback is supported, and the panel has a brightness of up to 3,000 nits. According to Xiaomi, “Shield Glass” protection has been utilised, which offers ten times more drop resistance than the glass found in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
With a 5,300mAh battery that allows for 90W rapid wired charging, 80W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging, the phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. A vapour cooling chamber, three times larger than the one in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, has been integrated by Xiaomi to keep the device cool.

Featuring a 50-megapixel Sony Lyt-900 sensor with optical image stabilisation and a 23mm equivalent “step-less” variable aperture lens (f/1.63-f/4.0), the Xiaomi 14 Ultra is a powerful camera. Three more cameras, including two zoom options, are also present on the phone. 50-megapixel Sony IMX898 cameras are equipped with a 75mm f/1.8 telephoto lens with 3.2x magnification on one camera, and a 120mm f/2.5 periscope lens with 5x magnification on the other. Whereas the latter can focus from a distance of 30 cm, the former can focus as close as 10 cm. Finally, there is an additional 50-megapixel Sony IMX898 camera using a 14mm f/1.8 ultrawide lens. Videos up to 8K@24 frames per second and 4K@120 frames per second with 10-bit Dolby Vision HDR and 10-bit LOG can be recorded on the phone. A 32-megapixel (f/2.0) front camera is featured.

Xiaomi 14

A 6.36-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1.5K (1200 x 2670p) and a refresh rate of up to 120Hz is a great feature of the Xiaomi 14. Dolby Vision playback is supported, and Xiaomi claims that the panel can deliver over 3,000 nits of brightness. There’s also Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection for the display.

The Xiaomi 14’s 4,610mAh battery and Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor power the device from underneath. In addition to 10W reverse wireless charging, the device offers 50W and 90W fast wired charging as well. Running on top of Android 14, the phone is powered by Xiaomi HyperOS.

The Xiaomi 14 has three cameras on its back for taking pictures. The 50-megapixel “Light Hunter 900” primary sensor has an optical image stabilisation system and a bespoke Leica Summilux lens. Its aperture is f/1.6, or 23 mm. Two additional 50-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide and a 50-megapixel f/2.0 3.2x telephoto (75mm) lens are also included with the phone. Videos up to 8K@24 frames per second may be recorded on the phone, with 10-bit LOG and 10-bit Dolby Vision HDR included. A 32-megapixel (f/2.0) front camera is featured.

Price details

The Xiaomi 14 is available in three different colourways: Jade Green, White, and Black. However, there are only two colour options available for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra: Black and White.

With regard to storage, Xiaomi 14 offers two choices, with prices starting at EUR 999. There is only one storage option for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and it starts at EUR 1499.
