Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leak Reveals Mind Blowing Battery, Leica Camera And Hidden Satellite Tech – Will India Get This Or Miss Out?

Xiaomi 17 Ultra leak hints at a huge battery, Leica-powered cameras, and satellite connectivity. However, India may only get a limited version without satellite calling.

Xiaomi is expected to launch its latest flagship, Xiaomi 17 Ultra soon in China. The phone is expected to be the top model in the Xiaomi 17 series. Ahead of the official launch, leaks have revealed exciting details about its battery, camera, colours, and even satellite connectivity.

Fans are curious (especially in India), where it’s unclear whether the full satellite version will be available.

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra promises big upgrades over its predecessors. According to a Weibo leak by tipster Bald Panda, the phone will feature a massive 6,800mAh battery. This is slightly larger than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 6,000mAh cell, but smaller than the 17 Pro’s 7,500mAh battery. It is expected to support 100W wired charging and fast wireless charging, which could mean less time plugged in and more time using the device freely.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Specs, Colours And Camera Features

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra will reportedly come in four colours: black, green, purple and white. The green and purple shades are new, replacing older options from previous models. The phone may measure 77.6mm in width, 8mm in thickness and weigh 227 grams, making it slightly slimmer than its predecessor.

On the camera front, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is said to feature a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. The device is co-created with Leica, which could bring advanced photography features and better image quality. Other highlights include a bright, Dolby Vision-supported display and an optional Photography Kit for enthusiasts.

Powering the phone is expected to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, which promises top-tier performance for gaming, multitasking, and media consumption.

Satellite Connectivity: Will India Get It?

One of the most intriguing features is the integrated dual-satellite communication. The high-end model supports two-way satellite calls via the Tiantong-1 network and messages via the BeiDou constellation. It also includes Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology, which enables precise local tracking and smooth interaction with smart devices like digital car keys.

Currently, full satellite support seems limited to the China-specific version. Global and Indian users may get a standard version without satellite calling, while Xiaomi may release a specialised edition with complete satellite functionality in select markets.

What To Expect From Xiaomi 17 Ultra Satellite Edition

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra is confirmed to launch in China between December 22 and 27. It promises eye-catching colours, high-performance specs, advanced cameras and a massive battery. However, some drawbacks include its high price, bloatware and a selfie camera that may not meet flagship standards.
