Yamaha TW-E7B: Yamaha has been concentrating on high-end, professional-grade consumer audio equipment for many years, with an emphasis on AV receivers and speaker systems in particular. However, many audio-purist firms have been changing their product strategy to keep up with the times as consumer preferences shift toward wireless audio. This is also true of the Japanese giant, which has recently entered the market for real wireless earphones. Although its goods have lost some of their vintage appeal, Yamaha nevertheless stands out from its more established rivals.

The Yamaha TW-E7B headphones cost Rs. 24,200, making it the most costly true wireless headset in the company's inventory. The TW-E7B makes a lot of promises, including active noise cancellation, enhanced Bluetooth codec support, and Yamaha's commitment to sound quality.

Design and features

Yamaha has adopted a "larger is better" stance while the majority of businesses are creating true wireless earphones to be small, sleek, and generally as minimalistic as possible. The TW-E7B earpieces are huge and awkward due to their size, yet they weigh only 7.3g apiece, not as much as you may think. Due to their relatively small weight, the earbuds are wearable despite their size.

Variants and colours

Yamaha sells two colour options in India: black and white. The black review unit I received was okay, but I think the white one is a little more striking and highlights the textured design a little more. The earbuds are IPX5 water resistant rated, so they should be able to withstand small sprays of water and perspiration without suffering substantial harm.

Control Application

The Yamaha Headphone Control app, which is accessible on iOS and Android, is compatible with the Yamaha TW-E7B true wireless headphones. Given the plain design of the headset and the fixed, non-customizable buttons on the earpieces, the software itself is quite simple. What you do get are earpiece battery level indicators, precise equaliser settings, switches for ANC and transparency modes, and toggles for listening care, listening optimizer, and gaming mode from Yamaha.
