Government's Stand on Toxic Waste Disposal in Pithampur

On January 2, 2025, MP CM Mohan Yadav addressed the issue, stating that for the last 40 years, the people of Bhopal have been living with this toxic waste. Many Government of India organisations were involved in the disposal of this hazardous material. The CM further explained that earlier, in 2015, 10 MT of waste was incinerated in Pithampur as part of a trial run. A report prepared with the presence of scientists was presented before the Supreme Court, confirming that the disposal of hazardous waste had no negative impact on the environment. After a detailed analysis of these reports, the MP High Court directed that the remaining hazardous waste be incinerated.
