CCTV video shows how tricolour was pulled down at Indian high commission in UK

In the latest update on the attack on the Indian High Commission in London by alleged Khalistan sympathisers, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday released five CCTV footages of the attack and sought public’s help in identifying the culprits. The attack on the Indian embassy took place on 19 March.

“NIA requests all members of the public to provide any information regarding persons seen in the footage in the interest of public safety,” tweeted the NIA.

Information can be provided on WhatsApp number 91-7290009373. The identity of the informer will be kept confidential.

The Special Cell of the Delhi Police registered an FIR in connection with the protest by pro-Khalistan activists at the Indian High Commission in London on 19 March, stating that the tricolor at the Indian High Commission was pulled down during the protest.

The NIA took over the case after the Union Home Ministry directed the Delhi Police to take legal action

An FIR was registered under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and investigation has been initiated. The Government of India had also summoned the British Deputy High Commissioner, seeking an explanation for the lack of security arrangements during the protests. British High Commissioner Alex Ellis described the incident as “disgraceful and totally unacceptable”.
