Golden Globes 2025: After not selecting Payal Kapadia\’s All We Imagine As Light for Oscars recognition, Indian cinema fanatics were visibly upset. However, the light was still bright as the young star\’s critically acclaimed work had a chance at the Golden Globes 2025. Golden Globes 2025: Emilia Pérez Knocks Out All We Imagine As Light

The story of two ladies that garnered the world\’s attention, All We Imagine as Light, is one of the most successful films from India on the Global platform. Keeping the glory in mind, fans and the Indian entertainment industry were super excited for All We Imagine As Light representing the nation at the Golden Globes 2025. However, the night\’s most nominated flick Emilia Pérez took down the Indian hopes as Payal Kapadia\’s work bowed down to it. All We Imagine As Light was nominated for the Best Picture – Non-English category but lost to Jacques Adiard\’s film. Winning the award, Emilia Pérez was nominated alongside The Girl With the Needle, I\’m Still Here, The Seed of Sacred Fig, Vermiglio and All We Imagine As Light. 

Payal Kapadia Falls Short Against Brady Corbet

Not just her film All We Imagine as Light but Payal Kapadia herself lost the award by director Brady Corbet. She was nominated for the Best Director Award at the Golden Globes 2025 but instead, Brady Corbet took home the honour, leaving Indian fans disappointed. Brady directed The Brutalist starring Adrien Brody and Felicity Jones. 

Intriguing Winners At the Golden Globes 2025

As Indian film lost both nominations, many films and series emerged as the winners of this year\’s Golden Globes award ceremony. As Emilia Pérez was the most nominated film, 10, it grabbed four glories. Shogun (series) also received four awards and spent a joyful night at the Golden Globes 2025. The Best Film-Drama was won by The Brutalist and Best Film Musical or Comedy was won by none other than Emilia Pérez. Adrien Brody grabbed the award for the Best Male Actor and Fernanda Torres clinched the Best Female Actor award. Best Television Series award went to Shogun at the Golden Globes 2025.
