On Bharti Singh's podcast, Sana Makbul opened up about her health journey and shared the reason behind her lifestyle changes. She revealed, “I have turned vegan due to health reasons and to help my liver.”

She further added, “Many people don’t know that I am an autoimmune hepatitis patient since 2020.” Sana explained that her body’s immune system attacks her liver, similar to lupus, and at times, it even causes pain in her kidneys.
