More About Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra
The story follows Chandra, a young woman who moves from Sweden to Bangalore. She works night shifts at a café and keeps to herself until a run-in with an organ-trafficking gang unlocks her hidden powers. Soon, she discovers she is Kalliyankattu Neeli, an ageless yakshi from Kerala connected to an ancient line of protectors. Mixing myth, fantasy, and action, the film explores her journey of self-discovery and destiny.
The runtime is 149 minutes (2 hours 29 minutes). Due to demand, it is also available in Hindi, reaching a wider audience across India.
Amid its success, the film faced criticism after a dialogue upset the Kannada-speaking community. Dulquer Salmaan’s Wayfarer Films issued an apology, saying the line was unintentional and would be removed. They clarified that no disrespect was intended and requested audiences to accept the apology.
