Saiyaara Advance Bookings Open Quietly, Only 6 Shows On Day 1 – Here’s How Much This Ahaan Panday Starrer Needs To Earn For A HIT Tag

Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara is all set to hit cinemas this Friday, July 18. The romantic drama stars newcomers Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda. While there was no big announcement, advance bookings opened quietly on Monday in select cities.

Surprisingly, the film has already made a strong impression. Over 1,100 tickets were sold in just under three hours across 100 PVRInox theatres. For a film without big stars, that’s a solid start. Youth audiences seem curious and ready to give it a chance.

Saiyaara Box Office Target: Can It Cross The 90 Cr Mark?

According to reports, Saiyaara has been made on a mid-sized budget of Rs 45 crore. To break even, it must earn the same amount at the Indian box office. But to be called a HIT, it will need to collect Rs 90 crore. That’s double the cost and a challenging goal for a debut-led film.

However, the buzz is growing. Trade experts feel that if the content strikes a chord with the youth, the film could surprise everyone. The pairing of Ahaan and Aneet is fresh, and YRF’s strategy is already working well. If the word of mouth turns out positive, Saiyaara might become the underdog success of the season.

Limited Shows And Smart Pricing: YRF’s Strategy Explained

For its first day, cinemas have been instructed to screen Saiyaara only six times per screen. All shows must begin after 9:30 am. From Saturday onward, the restriction will be lifted, allowing theatres to add more shows.

YRF is also rolling out offers to attract the younger crowd. The 9:30 am show will have special prices for students and college-goers. Plus, users can apply the code ‘SAIYAARA’ on BookMyShow to get 50% off, up to Rs 200, on a minimum of two tickets.

A trade expert told Bollywood Hungama, “India is a price-conscious market. Offering discounted morning shows and online deals could pull students back to theatres – something that faded post-pandemic.”

By following a unique release model amid high curiosity around the newcomers, Saiyaara is off to a promising start. But with box office rivals like Sitaare Zameen Par, Maalik, and others, the real test begins on July 18.
