The much-anticipated trailer for The Batman was released at Saturday’s DC Fandome event by director Matt Reeves. The titular role in this new DC addition is being played by Twilight star Robert Pattinson who in the trailer seems to have a dark, gritty and violent take on the character.
The trailer of the film has Nirvana’s “Something in the Way” playing in the background. Talking about Batman’s character, Reeves told fans, “it’s about the early days of him being Batman and he’s very far from being perfect.He’s trying to figure out what he can do to change this place. He’s seeing he’s not having any of the effect he wants to have.”
“He’s not a symbol of hope yet. One of the things he has to deal with is how he’s perceived … What was exciting for me was not doing the origin [story] but to meet him in the middle and to see him make mistakes and grow and fail and be heroic in a way that felt very human and very flawed,” he added.

The Batman is the reiteration of the Caped Crusader and also stars Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon.
The film was scheduled to be released on June 21, 2021 but has been postponed in the wake of coronavirus pandemic. The film will now be released on October 1, 2021 in cinemas worldwide.
Before Robert Pattinson, the Batman cape has been donned by the likes of Christian Bale, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck and Val Kilmer.
