The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3: ‘Thought I Would Never…’ Ravi Kishan Felt His Film Career Was Over After Entering Politics

Actor and Lok Sabha MP Ravi Kishan got honest on the latest episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3. He spoke about fear, faith and life after entering politics. He said he once believed his film career was finished the day he won Gorakhpur. Yet the movies called back. Praise for Laapata Ladies carried him from one relentless shoot and 160 paans to Oscars chatter. Fans loved the comeback mood.

The episode stayed warm and funny. Ajay Devgn joined Ravi and SOS 2 cast on the couch. There were career confessions, on‑set jokes, a bright pagdi moment and more.

The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 3: Ravi Kishan Opens Up On Career Fears

Ravi looked back at the love Laapata Ladies received and how long he had waited for a break like that. He said, “Laapata Ladies was met with a lot of praise, it went to the Oscars. I had been manifesting something like this for 34 years. Nothing really worked out at first. But by Mahadev’s grace, I became MP of Gorakhpur. At that point, I thought I would never get a call from the film industry again.”

He added, “At the end of the day, His blessings shape your path. Then came along the film by Kiran Rao. I played a police officer who kept chewing paan. I had to chew 160 paans while staying put in one spot. From that one spot, all the way to the Oscars.”

Ajay Devgn could not resist pulling his friend’s leg about their Son Of Sardar 2 shoot days. He revealed, “Ravi carried his serious look even in our film scenes. I told him to loosen up and after half a day, he finally realised.”

Ravi Kishan then explained the backstory of his half‑Bihari, half‑Punjabi character in the film. He said the character’s father was a Punjabi truck driver who married in Bihar. That is why the accent jumps between regions. Kapil Sharma tried not to lose it as Ravi bounced between voices.
