Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3 is facing serious heat ahead of its worldwide release. The backlash began soon after the trailer dropped, featuring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in a key role. The casting sparked outrage, especially as India reels from the recent Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22.

What was meant to be a fun franchise comeback has turned into a national debate. Big names like Mika Singh and B Praak have slammed the team, accusing them of ignoring national sentiment. As boycott calls grew louder, the makers finally broke their silence, but many viewers aren't convinced.

On June 24, White Hill Studios released a statement to defend their decision. The team said the film was completed “well before the prevailing situation” and no Pakistani artist was hired after the April tragedy.

The makers wrote, “This is to bring to everyone’s kind notice that the film named Sardaar Ji 3 was shot well before the prevailing situation that our country is facing now.”

They added that while the film was initially set for a full global release, they’ve now decided to skip Indian theatres entirely. “We had decided not to release the film or any of its promotional content in India until the situation becomes opportune.”

The film is now set to release overseas on June 27, with no India release planned.

Netizens Reject Makers’ Explanation

Despite the statement, social media users aren't buying it. One user commented, “You had the option to cut Hania’s scenes, but didn’t.”

Another suggested using AI to replace her entirely. The user wrote, “Use AI to change Hania’s face, that’s the least you can do.”

A third user said, “Don’t you feel any shame?”

Mika Singh Calls Diljit Donsajh ‘Fake Singer’ Amid Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy

In a sharp Instagram post, Mika Singh wrote, “Guys, as we all know, the relationship between India and Pakistan isn’t going well right now. Yet some people continue to act irresponsibly.”

He also called out Diljit Dosanjh for promoting the film with Hania Aamir while the country mourns. Referencing the cancelled Fawad Khan film Abir Gulaal, Mika said, “At least that film was stopped. But some still don’t get the message.”

Mika accused Diljit of abandoning Indian fans after his successful tour and slammed him for sharing the trailer at a sensitive time.

Directed by Amarjit Singh Saron, Sardaar Ji 3 stars Diljit, Neeru Bajwa and Hania Aamir. The film is a supernatural comedy, continuing the ghost-hunter storyline of the earlier films.
