Smoking in public harms bystanders and contributes to poor public health in many crowded and busy urban areas today. Despite strict regulations, some people still light cigarettes openly, ignoring rules and risking public exposure every day.

A viral video shows a lawyer smoking as an officer step in to confront and challenge him in Ghaziabad. This Ghaziabad viral video spread quickly online, still sparking heated debate on rights, respect, and law enforcement today.

The Incident: What Sparked the Confrontation?

A post by Ghar Ka Kalesh on X features a viral video from Ghaziabad of a smoking confrontation. A lady officer asks the advocate, "Ek ladies samne khadi hai aur aap cigarette piyoge?" The lawyer snaps back, "Yeh jo hath se marke gira diya yeh kaha ka kanun hai?"

Soon, male officers approach, and the lady officer tells the lawyer, "Tameez se baat karo." The male officers then lead the lawyer toward their vehicle to register an FIR. Passersby watch closely as the Ghaziabad viral video of the argument unfolds under heat.

What the Law Says About Smoking in Public?

Indian law strictly bans smoking in public areas to protect people from harmful tobacco smoke and to maintain public hygiene. Under COTPA, errant smokers may face fines or legal action if they violate public smoking restrictions.

Police officers must enforce rules and can firmly ask offenders to put out cigarettes immediately. If someone violates officers' warnings, the officers can register an FIR to penalize repeat offenders under strict, relevant central health laws.

Online Reactions: Netizens Divided Over Who's Right

The Ghaziabad viral video drew many opinions from netizens who watched the clip and intently online. One comment read, "Public smoking should be fined." Many viewers backed strict penalties for defaulters immediately without delay.

One user expressed strong disapproval, saying, "Public smoking is wrong, but you can't physically abuse the other person!! The rightful approach should have been to tell the person verbally and not touch/abuse him!! Reverse the gender and see who was wrong!!"

The debate highlighted mixed views on law enforcement and citizen responsibilities regarding smoking in public directly today. Some asked if action will follow to curb smoking after seeing this Ghaziabad viral video incident publicly.

Police should review the Ghaziabad viral video evidence carefully to determine the next steps. Authorities may file an FIR under COTPA and penalize the lawyer strictly for violating the rules.
