Another distressing Jaipur viral video is coming out from the monsoon-logged streets of the city today. Man breaks down in utter helplessness after his phone fell into the watery streets.
He was searching and crying, suggesting what else men could do in front of nature's destructive forces. Rajasthan, which has witnessed the all-time highest rainfalls, has led people to blame the system while also contemplating climate change. See what happens with the man in the viral video.
In the viral video posted by NDTV India on X, the man is seen kneeling down in the waterlogged street of Jaipur to find his mobile phone. Reportedly, he had fallen from his Activa scooter while driving through the waterlogged street. This causes his phone to fall into the muddy water.

जब मोबाइल नहीं… pic.twitter.com/DpEmGPQsT4
We can see him relentlessly searching for his valuable smartphone. But when he could not find it out, only tears of distress came out of his eyes. He breaks down in the middle of the water pool street helplessly. The tragic lament of the man is relatable to all the middle-class men on the internet.
People get instant sympathy for the poor man. They say, "Yaar kitna dukhi hai, @SonuSood isko phone dila dijiye please 🙏" considering the actor Sonu Sood as the messiah for poor people after his rescue operations during the COVID pandemic.
People open up with anger against the faulty system and drainage maintenance, leading to waterlogging every monsoon. They point out the helplessness of the poor middle class, saying, "Rote hue apne karmon ko hi kos raha hoga aur to kise kahe... baaki adhikari chai-cookies ke saath is video ka aanand le rahe honge...!". As the monsoon strikes badly even in Rajasthan this year, such tragic footage is making everyone wonder about climate change and its impact.
The video comes amid escalating monsoon turmoil across Rajasthan since July 6. Rajasthan is witnessing a record 126% more rainfall this year, leading to unimaginable damage to roads and constructions.
The apparently desert state witnessed 284.5 mm of rainfall between July 1 and July 7. This is by far the highest rainfall in Rajasthan. Despite such heavy rainfalls, around 12 MLD of water has been released from the Bisalpur Dam. This has resulted in a flood-like situation in Jaipur, Tonk, and Ajmer.
Forecasts predict further downpours in Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, and other eastern districts of Rajasthan. As the monsoon shows no sign of stopping, the waterlogging crisis seems to be disrupting public life further. This small clip is a reminder of man's helplessness in front of nature's whimsy.
