Lucknow Viral Video: A shocking update is coming out of the suicide of Nitesh Singh, the wife of Assistant Superintendent of Lucknow Police, Mr. Mukesh Pratap Singh. Many allegations have been made about the case after her dead body was found at their residence on 31 July.
Her family made allegations of extramarital affairs against her husband. However, the latest CCTV footage reveals her distressing mental state, as she was clearly trying to strangulate her disabled son. This shocking video, which was captured in their bedroom just a day before her suicide, is shifting the direction of the investigation.
A disturbing CCTV clip dated July 29, posted by Ghar Ke Kalesh on X, shows Nitesh attempting to smother her disabled son with a pillow while he was asleep. Shockingly, her younger son can be seen playing nearby in the same room during the incident. According to ASP Mukesh Pratap Singh, her husband, he had installed the CCTV camera for safety reasons.

He later shared the footage with the police, claiming it was proof of her declining mental health. He also revealed that she had been undergoing treatment and was on medication due to the emotional strain caused by their son’s condition.
Mental health remains one of the most overlooked issues in Indian society, especially among women facing emotional, marital, or caregiving stress. Despite growing awareness, stigma still prevents many from seeking help. When personal struggles are dismissed or labeled as “drama” or “weakness,” it creates silence — and sometimes, tragedy.
In this case, the pressures of maintaining social image, dealing with rumors, and caring for a disabled child may have gone unnoticed. It's a reminder that mental health support should be accessible and normalized, not hidden behind shame or social expectations.
People are concerned about the mental health condition that led her to take such drastic steps. They say, “In India, most people fight with depression silently and being lonely. They never visit doctor for their treatment”. People are considering the gravity of the situation and how painful it could be for the mother to deal with her mental state. They say, “We need to understand how important mental health is and give help to those silently suffering.”
People are also speculating about the reasons for her actions by saying, “Other angle could be that she might have planned for suicide already and didn’t want to leave his disabled son on Husband and his girlfriend?”
On the other hand, some are also saying that the intelligent move to install CCTV at home saves the ASP from being defamed. They say, “ASP was intelligent placed camera in bedroom....he is safe now ,else false case might harm his career..”
The CCTV footage shows clearly that Nitesh was in a severe mental state. It must have been a prolonged emotional and psychological distress over her son’s health that led her to end her life. While investigations into her brother’s allegations will continue, this footage surely will help the ASP to justify his case.
