Crowd Enters Heritage Madrasa In Karnataka On Dussehra To Perform Puja

On the occasion of Dussehra in Bidar, Karnataka, a case of forcibly entering the historic Mahmood Gawan Madrasa and worshiping has come to the fore. After this there is an atmosphere of tension in the area. It is being told that at 2 o’clock on the night of 6 October, dozens of people suddenly entered the madrasa and worshiped. It is alleged that the mob also raised slogans and vandalized the madrasa. Mahmud Gawan Madrasa in Bidar district, built in the year 1460, comes under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).

After the matter came to light, the police have registered a case against 70 people. Police have arrested 4 people out of 9 named people, while the search for 5 others is still going on. Many Muslim organizations of Bidar have condemned the incident and demanded the arrest of the accused.

On the occasion of Dussehra in Bidar, a video of a mob forcibly entering the historic madrassa and worshiping is going viral, in which it is seen that a large number of people are standing on the steps of the madrasa and shouting slogans of ‘Hinduism ki Jai’. In the viral video, it is seen that a crowd standing on the stairs is trying to go inside the building.

Bidar police say that the Hindu community has been worshiping twice a year near the minaret in the madrasa premises twice a year, but this time the crowd suddenly entered the madrasa and started worshiping inside as well as shouting slogans.

All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has targeted the state’s ruling BJP over the incident and accused it of promoting such incidents to “degrade Muslims”.
