Trivedi slammed Pitroda, who is considered a key ideological figure within the Congress party, stating that his remarks reflected the Congress party's alignment with China. "The kind of statement given by Sam Pitroda regarding China makes it clear that this is an expression of the agreement made by the Congress Party with China," said Trivedi.

According to Trivedi, Pitroda’s words were a direct blow to India’s national identity, diplomacy, and sovereignty. BJP’s Sudhanshu Trivedi did not stop at just criticising Sam Pitroda’s remarks. He also took aim at the Congress party as a whole for what he perceives as its soft stance on China. Trivedi posed a pointed question to Congress: “Is this not an insult to the martyrs of Galwan?” He reminded everyone of the 20 Indian soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the Galwan Valley clash with Chinese troops.

Sudhanshu Trivedi went on to argue that Pitroda's comments were disrespectful to the Indian Army and its sacrifices. "What happened in Galwan, our 20 soldiers martyred, and after your overseas chief speaks such language, then it is condemnable and an insult to the Indian Army," he added, underscoring the deep national sentiment regarding the India-China conflict.
