A symbolic wake (Janaza-e-Ghaib) was held in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) for Tahir Habib, one of the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists killed by Indian security forces. This is another clear sign that Pakistan was involved in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, 2025.
A deadly attack in Pahalgam on April 22
Armed militants stormed Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam on April 22, 2025. They opened fire on tourists and killed 26 people, making it one of the deadliest attacks in the area in recent memory. At first, the Resistance Front (TRF) said they were behind it, but more and more proof, such as digital traces, eyewitness accounts, and intelligence intercepts, linked the operation to Lashkar-e-Taiba in Pakistan and showed that it was planned and aided from across the border.
Operation Mahadev and the killing of terrorists
Indian security forces killed the main terrorists, including Category “A” terrorist Tahir Habib, during Operation Mahadev in Jammu & Kashmir. This was the last straw for those who were denying what happened.
Fuels for a Funeral in Absentia: Proof that Islamabad is involved
A few days later, Tahir\’s hometown village in Khai Gala, PoK, held a funeral for him even though he wasn\’t there. Pictures of the event were widely shared online, showing locals praying and LeT second-level commanders going, even though Tahir\’s family had asked them not to. Reports say that the funeral event made things worse in the PoK village, with people becoming angrier at the ongoing terrorist activity and threats from outside the village.
Proof that the government is supporting terrorism
Security officials see this Janaza-e-Ghaib as new, solid proof, along with forensics and captured communication devices, that Islamabad had a direct role in planning the killing. Using voter IDs and other papers found on the dead militants, investigators have also confirmed that the attackers were Pakistani.
Call for International Action to Be Stronger
Cross-border terrorism is getting more attention from the international community because of this event. It has also made India\’s case stronger that Pakistan is still using its land and agents like LeT to attack civilians in Kashmir and other places.
