Pakistani Man Asks Dhirendra Shastri, ‘Is Changing Name Necessary to Become Hindu?’ His Majestic Reply Earns Applause All Around

In a cultural meet, a Pakistani man introduces himself as Mahammad Arif Ajakia and raises a significant question to Bageshwar Baba. The incident is shared by the News 24 Channel on their official X handle. It shows that the person is asking the baba whether it is necessary to change his muslim name to become a complete Hindu? The Pakistani man is a human rights and social media activist.

He shares that his parents were Indian, and they moved to Pakistan during the partition. He developed an interest in Hinduism, and he recites the Bhagwat Gita regularly after transforming into Hinduism. But his friends keep on telling him to change his muslim name, and this is where he is facing troubles. Upon asking whether it is necessary to change his name, Bageshwar Baba, Dhirendra Shastri shares that it does not matter about your name. 

He says if you have internalised the Bhagwat Gita in you, then you are a Hindu. Then he goes on to say, if you follow the divine direction as portrayed by Lord Krishna in the Gita, then you are following Hinduism. The Baba says, “Aap Hindu Hein, aap ne ye maan liya, yehi kaafi hein“.

He keeps on saying, “Aap nam badlo ya na badlo, dil mein bichaar agar badal gaye to aap hamare ho gaye ho,” noting that we sing songs of Rahim and salute to Abdul Kalam with the same integrity, not for their names but for their work and ideology.
