Viral Video: A thief tries to flee with smartphones from a UK store, what happens next will leave you in splits

Viral Video: Social media users have been praising the shopkeeper's quick action that prevented the robbery attempt in broad daylight after seeing a CCTV video of a thief in the United Kingdom being left red-faced after having to return the stolen phones to the shopkeeper. A locked door spectacularly foiled the thief's attempt to steal mobile phones valued at $1,600 from a store in Dewsbury, UK, at 4 p.m. on December 4. According to Metro News, the thief not only gave the shopkeeper his stolen smartphones back in the end but also begged him to let him go.

Video went viral

The thief wearing a hoodie and posing as a customer is first seen in the now-viral CCTV footage. He runs toward the glass door after receiving phones from the shopkeeper behind the counter, but he is forced to turn around after the shopkeeper locks the door with the aid of a button. He awkwardly returns the stolen phones toward the end and begs the shopkeeper to let him go.

Since being posted on December 7, the video has received over 1.5 million views. Thousands of people have also liked, retweeted, and commented on the brief video. One twitter user commented, "The owner didn’t even flinch. How cool is that dude.” Another user said, "The keeper’s reaction is very telling of his beliefs. He perceives the situation as an opportunity rather than a threat/loss. This has to be the opitome of an abundance mindset.”
