Viral Video: A fuel station employee was attacked physically after he asked a woman not to use her mobile on the premises of a fuel station, saying she might cause a safety hazard. This incident shown in viral video took place at Mahadev Petrol Pump opposite to Drive-in Cinema at Vastrapur on September 1. Now, the case has been lodged by Vastrapur police against some unidentified people and further investigation is under process.
Safety Warning Ignites Confrontation
The victim, 26-year-old Nilesh Hiralal Marwadi, a resident of Thaltej, was working his shift as a petrol filler when the altercation took place. Around 6 p.m., two unidentified women arrived at the station on a moped to refuel. One of the women was holding a phone call while waiting, which led Nilesh to humbly request her to put off the call as it might pose a danger to them for using mobile phones at petrol pumps.
However, his safety-conscious request was met with hostility. The two women became furious, shouting and verbally abusing Nilesh. In an effort to de-escalate the situation, Nilesh chose to ignore the argument and continue with his work. But the matter didn’t end here; it went on to reach a much uglier level when he filed a complaint against them with some officials outside the company.
Women Return with Male Associates
Around 8:30 pm, the same women revisited the petrol pump but this time with three male associates. The gang came in two vehicles—a white Hyundai Creta and a black Ford Endeavour. Without any warning, they entered the petrol station and physically assaulted Nilesh. He suffered injuries from the attack before the supervisor of the petrol pump intervened and halted further injury.
The case is currently being probed by the police, with the CCTV footages from the petrol pump already sent to identify the assailants. The beating has been widely condemned, and this video has gone viral on X, (Twitter), shared by the account “Ghar Ka Kalesh.” It waits for more updates on the probe since authorities are pursuing legal action against the perpetrators.
